This position has the potential to become full time with limited benefits. Successful candidate will exhibit basic knowledge of natural resources issues such as familiarity with the flora and fauna of Wisconsin, experience with prescribed fire, and an understanding of the basic concepts of ecological restoration. Position requires employees to work outside in all weather conditions and communicate well with coworkers and customers. Employee must have a good driving record and be insurable under our insurance policies. Proficiency with powered equipment is greatly valued as is the ability to maintain equipment and conduct basic field repairs.
Seasonal work is expected to last from 8 to 16 weeks starting in early or mid-March. The work schedule is subject to weather and site conditions, so, while it is expected that the successful candidate will work 40 or more hours during that time, it cannot be guaranteed. Also, it is important to note that weather and site conditions may also dictate working on weekends and holidays.
